WHY VOCAL FOR LOCAL IS A GOOD MOVE?

After the Indian Government has announced to make “Local Companies Global” and to increase the demand for locally manufactured goods, the Indian e-commerce industry is focusing on more Indian brands. Nowadays, all the Indian e-commerce websites are promoting the “Vocal for Local” campaign through their social media platforms for the growth of their businesses. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced “Vocal for Local” and asked India’s consumers to buy Indian goods from Indian brands, the consumers have started looking for ‘Made in India’ tags just as they look for MRP and expiry date of the product before buying.

If this simple strategy is followed, it will help the country to become self-reliant or Atmanirbhar. The e-commerce industries have started selling products from local manufacturers and contributing to the growth of local manufacturing industries.

According to the reports, the e-commerce industries will soon add small local shops as sellers on their platform. During the nationwide lockdown, this act will help people practice social distancing by providing more online options. The e-commerce platforms has reached out to 5000 local stores, which include products like apparel, electronics, toys, furniture, grocery and more. After this consumers will be able to shop for products from the local shops from the convenience of their homes. It will be a win-win situation as customers benefit from a larger collection, faster delivery and local shops can transform themselves into digital stores.

Hokosoko is one of the emerging Indian e-commerce brands that promote Indian culture and provides a better marketplace to the Indian citizens and sellers. To support “Vocal for Local” they are working with local suppliers and manufacturers. They deliver good quality products at affordable prices. The website contains local sellers from categories like toys, home & kitchen, personal care, gardening tools, school stationery, automotive, books, home décor items, sports and much more. Their primary focus is to promote “Make in India” products. Hokosoko believes that “Vocal for Local” is not just about buying Indian products; it is about promoting them through various platforms.

Here is how “Local for Vocal” & “Make in India” has benefitted Indian brands.

Make in India has come up with lots of benefits for the Indian Economy. Consumers will get local products at better prices as compared to foreign branded products. Imposing barriers on China’s goods and selling “Make in India” products will increase employment in the e-commerce industry and will also provide benefits to the Indian economy. Moreover, e-commerce websites are taking advantage of the ongoing campaign “Support Local” on Instagram and building content around it to boost their page. They are investing in both local and large retailers. Through “Make in India” project more companies are looking to set up industries which will further bring employment opportunities for the skilled labours. The Indian government is also running skill development programs for the people living in rural areas and the poor people in urban areas.
